Zebra Finches Reviewer: Nadene (Elverson, PA) I own three zebra finches and two society finches, I had four zebra finches. I just found my zebra finch dead with the door down on his neck, so be advised, if you get these cages the doors need to be absolutely secure before you allow the birds to fly around. BC4L Comment: We are sorry to hear of your loss. The doors on this cage slide up and are not designed to be left open. You could use a quick link or other like item to secure them open if necessary. You can also twist the door diagonally once in the open position which will keep it open, but this will not guarantee a jarring of the cage will not cause the door to close.   fine for canaries Reviewer: Theresa (, IN) I don't use the perches that come w/the cages, for the same reason listed above.
